Functional appliances are a removable appliance (twin block) that fits over both your upper and lower teeth and then locks together.
Functional appliances work really well if you have prominent upper teeth (class II occlusion) and are worn all the time just taken out when cleaning your teeth and playing contact sports.
They are usually used in growing patients (children aged 10-14) for maximum benefit.
